Add an Equipment Model

Goal: Create an equipment model in the PMS, so it can be selected as the base template when adding individual pieces of equipment on board.

An equipment model defines the make and manufacturer of a piece of equipment — for example "MTU 16V 4000 M93" by manufacturer "MTU". Once the model exists, you can create multiple equipment instances from it (one per engine, generator, etc.).

Before you start

  • You must have permission to manage equipment models. If you don’t see the option, ask your fleet administrator.
  • Have the model name and manufacturer name ready.

Steps

Open Equipment Models

  1. From the main navigation, open PMS.

  2. In the sub-navigation, select Equipment Models.

The list shows all existing models with their name and manufacturer.

  2. Select the Manufacturer from the dropdown list (required).

If the manufacturer does not appear in the list, ask your administrator to add it in the system settings first.

Save

  1. Click Save.

Result

The equipment model is saved and immediately available for selection in the Equipment Model field when adding new equipment. It appears in the Equipment Models list.
