Understand Permissions and Missing Features

Goal: Understand why a page, button, card, field, or action may not be visible or available.

Before you start

  • Confirm that you are signed in with the correct user account.
  • Confirm that the correct yacht is selected if the work depends on a yacht.

Why features can be missing

IN-YACHT only shows the areas and actions that are available to your profile, the selected yacht, and the active modules. This helps users focus on the work they are allowed to perform.

If you do not see a feature, it does not always mean something is broken. It may mean that the feature is not enabled for that yacht, the selected record is not ready for that action, or your profile does not include the required access.

Common examples

You may notice missing or disabled features in several places:

  • A module is not visible in the sidebar.
  • A Homepage Card is not shown.
  • A table does not show New, Import, Export, or Delete.
  • A detail page is read-only.
  • A workflow action is disabled.
  • A file upload area is not available.
  • A report is not shown for the table you are viewing.

What to check first

Check these items before asking for support:

  1. Make sure the correct yacht is selected.
  2. Refresh the page or table.
  3. Clear active table filters if a record is missing.
  4. Confirm that the module is expected to be active for the yacht.
  5. Confirm that the selected record is in the right status for the action.
  6. Ask your administrator to confirm your profile permissions.
Use plain language when asking for help. For example: "I need permission to create purchase requests on this yacht" is more useful than naming an internal permission.

You know the main reasons why a feature can be hidden or unavailable, and you know what to check before escalating the issue.
