Active Contract and Rank
Goal: Understand why active contract and rank information are important before boarding crew or planning rotation.
What active contract means
An active contract is the contract currently used for the crew member’s operational relationship with the yacht.
When a crew member has an active contract, the Crew Members list can show them as active. When they do not, they may appear as former crew or may be unavailable for some operational actions.
Why rank comes from the contract
The rank shown for a crew member can come from the active contract. This helps the yacht keep rank information tied to the contract period instead of treating it as a permanent personal detail.
If the rank on the profile looks wrong, review the contract first.

Why boarding can be blocked
Boarding or rotation actions may be unavailable when required contract information is missing.
Check:
- The crew member has a contract.
- The contract is active for the relevant period.
- The contract includes the correct rank.
- The correct yacht is selected.
- Your profile includes permission to manage the action.
Result
You know why a crew member may be active, former, or unavailable for boarding, and you know to review contract dates and rank before changing operational status.
